Thanks Nick, great to hear from you. Definitely aligned to your point (assuming I understood it) re: bands who without the human component will have zero value - but that may be to people like you and I. Will it categorically have no appeal? That's hard to say. If you find yourself writing about music, you may well have a deeper, emotional relationship with this medium and the creativity of it. Not everyone is concerned with authenticity.
Your second point - I'm unclear on the beliefs that people hold in this regard but do feel the concern - at least as I experience it - is more around whether people's art is being used to teach algorithms and what may result. Though it's fantastical, I feel the prospect of labels trying to create more of something that already exists may be a greater threat than an AI composition. Whether it's accelerating at a perceivably rapid rate, or people are learning how to better utilise it is a different debate, and if you've dabbled with any of the AI tools (like the Canva app) that generates an image background (a portrait to landscape) transformation, oh lordy there's some weird stuff that goes on there. Distorted Getty Images stamps and mutant people.
I guess I'm motivated by the purity of the artist and the song craft, and the what if won't change my listening habits, but as stated, not everyone listens with prejudice. Thanks again!
